Trauma Emergencies

This 8-hour online continuing education course is designed for Emergency Medical Responders (EMR), Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (AEMT), and Paramedics seeking to enhance their knowledge and management of traumatic injuries in the prehospital environment. Participants will review current trauma assessment principles, injury patterns, and evidence-based treatment strategies for patients experiencing blunt and penetrating trauma.

Topics include trauma scene management, hemorrhage control, shock recognition and treatment, traumatic brain injuries, spinal trauma, chest and abdominal injuries, musculoskeletal trauma, burns, and special populations. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, patient assessment, rapid intervention, and appropriate transport decisions consistent with current trauma care guidelines.

Through interactive presentations, case studies, and scenario-based learning, participants will strengthen their ability to identify life-threatening injuries, prioritize treatment interventions, and improve patient outcomes across a variety of traumatic emergencies encountered in the field.
