Summary
High threat incidents, active shootings, hazardous environments, domestic violence, and civil unrest are now common EMS responses. Traditional "scene safe, BSI" mantras are inadequate for today's threats. EMS in the Hot Zone equips providers to operate in hot, warm, and cold zones of care, blending TECC principles of threat mitigation, hemorrhage control, and rapid evacuation with practical EMS skills. Participants learn to make dynamic risk/benefit decisions, coordinate with law enforcement, delivers lifesaving care in hostile environments, and manage stress and documentation to protect themselves legally and psychologically.
