Summary

Saving Ourselves Deep Dive is an 8 hour continuing education course designed to increase awareness of mental health challenges in first responders and provide practical strategies for early recognition, peer support, and stress management.

This course was created and is instructed by Brad Lawson, author of Dancing with Darkness: A First Responder's Fight For Light. Content is based on operational experience, current industry data, and accepted practices in responder wellness and peer support.

Instruction includes lecture, facilitated discussion, and scenario based group activities. Emphasis is placed on identifying behavioral health risks, improving communication between peers, and promoting early intervention strategies within EMS systems.

This course is intended for EMS providers and other first responders. It does not provide diagnosis or treatment of mental health conditions and is not a substitute for care from a licensed mental health professional.

Target Audience: Emergency Medical Technicians, Advanced EMTs, Paramedics, Firefighters, Law Enforcement Officers, and other first responders.
